Jerold Wayne Williams, 69, of Clarksville, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Wayne was born on April 14, 1943, the son of Jerry and Mary (Jaquis) Williams in Shell Rock, Iowa. He graduated from Clarksville High school in 1961. In June of 1961, he entered the US Navy serving during Vietnam. On May 11, 1962, he was united in marriage to Florence Willson at the Community United Methodist Church of Clarksville in Clarksville.

Following his discharge from the service in January of 1989, he returned to Shell Rock and ran a lawn services for two years. Wayne then attended AIC College in Waterloo for two years obtaining a degree in computer programming. He then went to work for ASI Computers in Cedar Falls as a computer programmer and instructor. Wayne retired from ASI in 2007.

He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Clarksville and a lifetime member of the Clarksville Amvets. He was a volunteer fireman for Shell Rock when the couple made their home in Shell Rock. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and camping, but his most enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors are his wife, Florence "Flo" Williams of Clarksville, Iowa; two daughters, Sherri (Rodger) Polson of Crawford, Colorado and Cindy (Tom Paul) Williams of Nettleton, Mississippi; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and by two brothers, Richard (Grace) Williams and Donald (Terri) Williams both of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brian Quinlan, and by a sister, Alice Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Community United Methodist Church of Clarksville with Rev. Deborah Coble Wise officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, Iowa with military rites by the Clarksville Amvets, Post #30. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday at the Funeral Home in Waverly, Iowa and also an hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
