William Lee Hickerson

Post by Board Admin »

On Tuesday October 15, 2019, William Lee Hickerson Jr passed away. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and patriot. He was born March 7, 1954 to William L. Hickerson and Jill Jacquelin Hickerson.
Lee joined the US Navy June 16,1972 and served his country 23 years.
He was married to the love of his life Judith Eastin Hickerson for 43 years and had 2 sons.
Lee is survived by his sons, Lonnie Michael and Jeffery Lee, who both served in the US Navy. His Grandchildren; Ariel, Brianna, Curtis and Kira. His parents Bill and Dee Hickerson. Brothers; Jeffrey Hickerson, Kerry Betts, Roger Young, sisters: Pam Slater, Brenda Jenkins, Lisa Herald. Preceded in death by his wife Judith E. Hickerson, mother Jill J. Hickerson and sister Bambi Kennedy.
Lee had a passion for life and working with his hands. Either using them mechanically for his work or his talent for woodworking. He was also an avid motorcyclist enjoying taking trips with friends. Lee was very involved in work for his church and he was known for his sharp humor, infectious laugh and his desire to help others. In life, he would devote his time from being a Boy Scout leader to the mall Santa Claus but whatever he could do to help, even for a stranger, you could always count on it being done unconditionally and with a smile. Lee was a member/volunteer with the Carolina Piedmont Sub-Vettes.
Lee leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and devotion. His and his family’s faith tells us that though he is gone, we know he is in our future.
