NATCHEZ — Services for Archie Leo James, 74, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Len McRaney officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. James was born Feb. 6, 1937, in Hastings, Okla., the son of William Marcus James and Mary McClartie James.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy and attended Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. Mr. James enjoyed wood working.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Cathy James; and one grandson, Tucker Cupit.

Survivors include his wife, Christine James of Natchez; one daughter, Betty Jean Tarver and husband, Tommy, of Natchez; one son, Billy Cupit of Vicksburg; one grandson, Casey Cupit of Metairie; one great-grandchild, Savannah Cupit of Vicksburg; and one sister, Louise James of Waureka, Okla.

Pallbearers will be Donald Wallace, Casey Cupit, David Combs, Gary James, Paul Anderson and Barry Keeling.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society and a charity of your choice.
