Paul Mitchell Hounshell

Paul Mitchell (Mitch) Hounshell, 55, of Salisbury, N.C., passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006. He was born October 20, 1950 in Wytheville, Va. He earned a BS degree in biology at College of Charleston, Charleston, S.C., served in the U.S. Navy aboard submarines as a nuclear reactor operator. He was the owner of Educational Outfitters of the Triad and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Salisbury, N.C. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Louise Hounshell. He is survived by his wife, Gail Hounshell of Salisbury, N.C.; His parents, Dallas W. and Louise Hall Hounshell of Franklinton, La.; two brothers, Mike Hounsell and wife, Emily of Salisbury, N.C., Bill Hounshell and wife Kathy of Baton Rouge, La.; four nephews and two nieces also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Marvin United Methodist Church, Rural Retreat, Va. with the Rev. Randy Kirby and the Rev. Vince Krauss officiating. Interment will follow in church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial donations may be made to Black Lick Cemetery Fund, c/o Sarah Russell, 391 Cobb Road, Rural Retreat, VA 24368. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
