PAUL R. CRISP, 66, a retired Navy veteran, died October 29, 2011. He served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, beginning his career as a submariner on the USS John Marshall in 1962, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in 1983. He graduated with a degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University.

After his naval career, Paul was the Director of Business, Industry & Government at State Technical Institute Memphis, and later the Director of Engineering at LeBonheur Children's Hospital before retiring in 2002.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William John Arville Crisp and Rebecca Blanche Curtis of Gastonia, NC and sisters, Ruby Crisp Hill, Evelyn Crisp Lanning, Jean Crisp Thomasson, and Nancy Crisp White.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Virginia Crisp; a daughter, Lisa Chmiel of Lessburg, GA; a son, Brian Crisp of Arlington and grandchildren, Dakotah, Mackenzie, and Tristan Chmiel. He also leaves a sister, Betty Crisp Hullet of Gastonia, NC and brothers William J. Crisp of Surigad Del Norte, Phillipines and Robert J. Crisp of Clover, SC.

Ceremony and interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
