Keith,

The log in process for new users can be a bit confusing. Moving this from the "Discussion Forum" to the main index page would be helpful.

This would let people know if they are logged in or where to register, etc.

Thanks,

Joe...

Let me be sure I follow:
You are suggesting that we mkae the login page of the forum the first page of the site, i.e., what people see when they type in

Right?

Keith,

I think the first page we see on this website is good, I would just move the links to the "Log In" features to the first page. That way people can see where to register, view their profile, etc. as well as know they are logged in when they first arrive. Moving the following links that are currently on the Discussion Forum page to the 1st page (Index) would make sense?

A place for shipmates and those connected with the James Madison to converge, converse and conspire

Gotcha now. I hadn't seen this when I responded to your email.
Lemme think on how to do it...

Keith,

I think you have the idea, I would add some type of feedback for people to know that they are logged in, etc. I have my logon set to do that automatically whenever I visit that website. The Logoff "User ID" link would tell me that I was logged on indirectly.

Either that or a Welcome "User ID" to give them feedback on the home page. This way new unregistered users can start the registration process intuitively and existing users will know that they are logged on.

Regards,

Joe...

Good suggestion

I agree, it was one of the things I had in mind to mention but CRS set in so I am glad Joey had the presence of mind to suggest it also.

I like the overall look and feel of the site and think you have done a bangup job. We will be making it better perpetually, I have never found a website that was a "done job". Kinda like qual'ing on the boat. No one ever stopped after they got their "SS", they were just beginning to understand how much more there was to learn and do.
